DIY SPIKED CONVERSE

Wooo! My first tutorial!
Full creative credit to  Mireia of My Daily Style and you can see her tutorial here!
I saw these on lookbook.nu and fell in luurrrvvvveee!
(I use way to many exclamation marks!)

Spiked Converse / Sneakers
What you need:
1 x Sneakers (obviously I used converse Ox's, which for Aussies I found cheapest on ASOS, here)
100 x 3/8'/10mm Screw Back Spike (I got mine from eBay, here)
1 x Pencil
1 x Cutting Implement
1 x Silver texta or Paint
The first thing I did was mark where I wanted all my spikes to go. Remember you have about 50 spikes per shoe which makes to about 25 per side.

I used a pair of scissors to cut holes for the screws. Be careful no to make the holes to big.

Note: The back most panel is the hardest part of the hole shoe to do because of all the padding. I had to use a scalpel as well

One quarter done!

As you can see I stored the spikes for each shoe in each shoe
To get all my studs in the same place on both shoes I pressed them together to they left tiny imprints

(you can see here i have the back panel till last)

 Final Touch!
Mireia used paint but I borrowed a friends silver metallic texta, which worked a treat!

And WELLLLAAAAAAAAAA!
Wishing now I had tied/hidden the laces #firstworldproblems

Hints and tips:
  • The first time I wore them about 5 spikes fell off, hence I recommend allocating 45ish studs per shoes incase some fall off you will have spairs
  • Wear your converse in before you stud them! Slowly wearing mine in but its easier prestudding them
  • Take the laces out whilst you are studding them, almost impossible if in

Fun Spiking All!

  2. hey there, I am studding a pair of converse myself too! How did you manage to stud the back panel? I have tried and it's too thick so I cannot screw my spike on. Help please?
Could you reply to spanishivory@live.com.sg? If you would I'd be so grateful!
